I vote for its pretty fair
First off, I think the whole deal may be excessive. No other victim has
been given such a deal. But this is a unique situation, and lawsuits
would clog the courts for a very long time.
At any rate, with all of the monies that have been collected, deducting
many already available benefits (social security, etc) brings everyone
to a more level playing field.
Maybe some of it should be on a percentage, so the deduction is not
dollar for dollar.
However, this will be a rare time, when all lives are viewed more
equally. Not just on their net worth.
