Compensation
I would just like to comment that if what I read is correct I think it
is terrible, almost as bad as the tobacco settlement which was one of
the most asinine settlements ever made. I am truly sorry that lives
were lost in this disaster and am sure that lives have been changed
forever because of it. However, as I understand it, victims are
receiving in excess of 1 million dollars each. This is astronomical.
99% of the citizens don't carry anywhere near that amount of insurance
but yet they are complaining that they are not receiving enough. With
so many needy people in the United States alone, surely some of this
money could be distributed to other causes. How about the servicemen
and women who are being killed; how much are they receiving? Don't they
deserve it every bit as much as anyone else?
