Dear Mr. Zwick,

On September 11, my fiancee,    , who worked for the bond trading firm    , was killed as a result of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. We were together for 10 years in which time we planned for a future that never came. We were to be married on May 18th of this year. Mr. Zwick, I have lost my life partner. Additionally, I have no legal entitlement to compensation that might at the very least provide me with some future financial security.

The Victims Compensation Fund, which had been established, with Federal funds, was set up to financially compensate victim's family members. As I understand there is only one application per victim which presents a problem for fiancees and domestic partners. In all fairness if the fiancees/domestic partner are going to be denied the opportunity to apply for the Victims Compensation Fund on our own, it should be determined how the settlement should be divided when there is a fiancee/domestic partner involved. It is very difficult to discuss these financial matters with the family and it might be helpful if there are distribution regulations set to protect people in these situations.

Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this matter

Sincerely,
