I am deeply saddened and disturbed by the backlash of comments about victims
compensation. It seems as though we are giving the terrorists yet another
victory with all this bickering back and forth.
While it is true that all of us at one time or another have experienced loss
of loved ones, I for one, would not want to walk in the shoes of any of
those who lost loved ones or had family members injured in the attacks. The
grief and anger would be more than I could bear. No price is high enough to
replace the lives of those lost, or mend the shattered lives of those
injured.
However, the opportunity afforded by this site as a forum for free speech
serves as a reminder for me, that our way of life and basic freedoms are
something the terrorists can never take from us. For the sake of our
country, I will continue to pray that an equitable solution can be arrived
at for all concerned.
My thanks to the Justice Department for allowing all Americans to be heard.
God Bless America.
