Dear Mr. Zwick,
My name is and my fiancee was killed in the
World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Although we were "engaged" we have been
married in our hearts for the past seven years. and I own a home together and
were to be married this year. The only thing that I want, is my loving back;
however, I cannot have that.
was 27 years old and worked for since 1997. He was very
financially successful as an equity options sales trader. achievements enabled
us to purchase our beautiful home. Considering that I am a school teacher, I cannot make
this mortgage on my own. It was salary that allowed us to purchase our home.
At this point, everything has been torn away from me, I cannot bear to give up anything
more. and I have also accrued credit card debt purchasing necessary item for
our home. This would have been paid off easily if were still alive and working. I
know that it would be wish for me to be able to stay in our home, as well as
become debt free.
On September 11th, my world came crashing down on me, along with many other
peoples. I strongly believe that all long-term partners (same sex and heterosexual) should
be treated as spouses. We have suffered the same loss and must be treated fairly because
we also were financially dependent on our partners.
Please help us, the fiancees/long term partners, in advocating our message to Special
Master Ken Feinberg.
Thank you for your attention and help in this matter.
Respectfully,
