September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001
I was shocked, as was the rest of the United States, when terrorism attacked
us on September 11th. I felt sympathy for the victims and their families. I
grieved with them, cried with them and prayed for them. I donated money to
charities in order to help those in need. But now I feel I am being
victimized. I watch TV and see these same victims that I once shed a tear
for complain for more money. What about those who lost their loved ones to
plane crashes, mail bombs, everyday accidents. Those people learn to deal
with what God has dealt them, they learn to pick up their heads and move on.
They are not focused on how much money they can leach out of others but how
they can help themselves and their family. Yes, what they are going through
is a tragedy, but there is no need to slap those who were willing to help in
the face. Perhaps the government needs to spend it's time looking into the
administration of the charities and less time trying to pacify ungrateful
people.
