9/11 Compensation
I worked in the World Trade Center for 20 years and was on the floor of
1 WTC on 9/11. I think the single dumbest thing the government could have
done was to get involved in compensation issues. What a precedent has been
set! The dollars collected by charities divided by the number of those that
died should be more than enough. Now every time something similar happens,
those affected will look for government hand-outs. And those from earlier
events were not afforded this. No wonder people are up in arms. But since
it is started, I think the janitor should get more in the final tally than an
executive with the deduction of life insurance, social security and the like.
It seems the ones who had more are griping more.
