consumption
I am the Vice President of Give Your Voice. Many families are calling me about
how unjust the consumption tables are for single victims with no
dependents. In addition they are questioning me about the workforce stats A
single 25 year old victim has a 62.6 consumption number if he was making 50
thousand.A married with no children victim of the same age same salary has a
18.3 consumption number.A single parent 25 years old same salary has a 52.5
consumption figure. These figures are very inconsistent with each other and
punishes a person for not being married. In addititon your tables have them
ending their careers at the age of 58.Whereas a 40 year old retires at 61 a
55 year pld at 64 a 65 year old at 69.5.Another huge discrepancy hurting the
youngest victims. In many wrongful death suits the future earnings are figured
up to the eligibility of Social Security.
In new york all compensation for
wrongful death are paid from Gross Earnings not Net.Look at Manning vs
Garrett corp. 1987 2ndcircuiy court.
Because of the many uncertainties and discrepancies many families are
outraged how the tort reformers are going to win a huge victory at the
expense of the murdered victims of September 11.
I woud love
to get a reply however I doubt we will.
Thanks
