9.11 Victim Compensation Fund

Hello,

As an American citizen, I was very unsure exactly what to think about the compensation funds for the family of victims. I had originally thought the compensation packages were fair. However, I have changed my mind. These families faced great turmoil because of these horrible terrorist attacks that could have been prevented. The United States must admit that some people were at fault. The security at the airports, the CIA, and many others should have been able to prevent this tradegy. We owe this to the victims for their mistakes. As a country at war, we should not be fighting over money. How can anyone say how much a human life is worth? A human life is priceless, you can never make up for their departure, no matter how much money may be offered. But we must remember the thousands of children, wives, fiances, etc. who no longer have the of the financial support of their loved ones. The U.S. government should not deduct the money that people saved responsibly in pension plans etc. In addition, the government should remember to include same sex partners and fiances in their aid packages. The government should also remember to include uncles, grandparents, etc that may have raised victims, rather than their parents. So please, just remember the pain and suffering of all the victims and their families, and do the right thing.
