September 11 Victims Relief Fund

Dear Mr. Kenneth Zwick,

I write as a taxpayer, with my comments on the administration of the September 11 Victims Relief Fund. As you consider rules for administering this relief fund, I ask that you consider the following points:

1.. This is setting a dangerous precedent. Are we really prepared to pay victims' survivors compensation for every future act of terrorism?
2.. As long as our taxes are supporting this relief operation, justice requires that the victims' survivors receive equal amounts of compensation. The government should not be deciding the value of each individual life. When it comes to tax distribution, we should all be equal in the eyes of justice.
3.. Those who have had the foresight of purchasing life insurance should not be penalized for having made the financial sacrifice to purchase such insurance. This should not be deducted from their equal share of the relief fund. 4.. The recipients of this relief should be legitimate family members as sanctioned by our marriage laws, not partners shacking up or homosexuals who were living together.
5.. Those who accept this compensation should consider themselves compensated and give up their right to seek additional compensation by suing the airlines or the government.
Respectfully yours,
