Armenia: ICITAP Concludes Two-Month Scenario-Based Training with New Patrol Police
On August 27, the ICITAP-Armenia mission provided an update on the conclusion of its scenario-based training program with the new patrol police. In early July, ICITAP-Armenia began a two-month long scenario-based training block of instruction for new patrol police officers. This training concluded during the last week of August. During these two months, newly graduated patrol officers were put through high-stress scenarios designed to improve critical thinking skills, de-escalation techniques, and problem-solving capabilities. While teaching the newly appointed patrol officers, ICITAP-Armenia advisors also partnered with newly trained Armenian instructors to improve upon skills and ensure scenario-based training is solidified into the new patrol police’s in-service training program. In Armenia, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
