Mexico: ICITAP Holds Inaugural Session of Forensic Leadership and Management Workshop

On March 22, ICITAP launched the Forensic Leadership and Management Workshop. The objective of the course is for participants to develop a clear understanding of leadership focused on forensic science and quality. The workshop is aimed at those who have a leadership position in forensic laboratories and who are responsible for influencing their work teams such as Expert Services Directors, Quality Managers and Directors, Quality Liaisons and technical leaders in the forensic area. The 40 leaders participating in the workshop come from Mexico as well as Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador. Starting, the week of March 28, the workshop will be held through a virtual video platform every Monday through June 13, 2022. Each webinar will start at 10 a.m. Mexico City time and will last approximately two hours. The Forensic Leadership and Management Workshop plans to deliver the greatest amount of content in a way that maximizes time. The main topics include Leadership, Ethics, Self-Management, Communication, Conflict Management, Teamwork, Commitment and Motivation, Customer Focus, Strategies and Risk Management, Project Management and Decision Making. Forensic Laboratories and their leadership support critical investigations by providing reliable forensic evidence in a timely manner that in turn promotes public confidence in the criminal justice system through science.
