Bangladesh: ICITAP Supports Corrections Reform and Attends 56th Graduation Event

On September 1, ICITAP-Bangladesh’s Senior Program Advisor along with ICITAP’s Senior Corrections Advisor attended the 56th Basic Jail Wardens (Corrections Officers) graduation, which was highlighted by the participation of the Inspector General and the Minister of Home Affairs. On the margins of the graduation ceremony, the ICITAP team engaged in important discussions with Bangladeshi officials about continuing prison reform efforts, contributing greatly to ICITAP’s partnership in this area of assistance. ICITAP provides assistance and training to the Bangladeshi correctional community with the support of and in coordination with the State Department’s Bureau of Counterterrorism and Countering Violent Extremism (CT).
