On July 8, ICITAP-Mexico, with the assistance of ICITAP-HQ, hosted the sixth in a series of virtual conferences designed to assist forensic experts in accredited and non-accredited forensic laboratories across Mexico and Latin American. This webinar, dedicated to Crime Scene Inspection, was conducted by ICITAP-Mexico CSI experts with experts from the Fiscalía General of Nuevo León, and the Instituto Jalisciense de Ciencias Forenses of Jalisco. The presenters have served as technical assessors in multiple accreditation audits within Mexico, and in some cases the U.S. and Central and South America. They addressed frequently observed non-conformities with respect to the applicable ISO/IEC 17020 standard issued by the International Organization for Standardization, offering relevant examples for all labs and actions to resolve each one. The remainder of the webinar was dedicated to Q&As. A total of 576 experts attended from state and federal governments in Mexico, as well as from the United States, Caribbean, Central America and Colombia. During the six weekly sessions, more than 2,000 attendees have logged in.
