The Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service is presented to a team for its highly successful work as part of the investigation into manipulation of the London InterBank Offered Rate (LIBOR), as well as other leading benchmark interest rates, including the Euro Interbank Offered Rate (Euribor).
The Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service is presented to a team that conducted settlement negotiations and the predicate fraud investigations that led to the largest settlement with a single entity in American history, and the largest Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act (FIRREA) penalty ever recovered by the U.S. Department of Justice.
The Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service is presented to a team for its exemplary performance in litigating U.S. v. City of New York which found that the City of New York engaged in a pattern or practice of discrimination against minority applicants for entry-level firefighter positions.
The Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Legal Support, Paralegal Category, is presented to Paula Clinedinst, Environment and Natural Resources Division, for her sustained work providing all facets of paralegal support including cite-checking and proofing briefs; legal research; overseeing and tracking two high-volume litigation dockets; and training other paralegals.
The Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Legal Support, Legal Support Category, is presented to Gail Dallman, Office of the U.S. Trustee, Region 11, for her exceptional work to identify, test, and implement the use of low-cost alternatives to the Public Access to Case Electronic Records (PACER) system.
The Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Administrative Support, Administrative Category, is presented to Renee Robinson, U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO), District of Alaska, for her indispensable contributions to the mission of the USAO in multiple roles including Information Technology Manager and Acting Administrative Officer.
The John Marshall Award for Trial of Litigation is presented to a team from the Environment and Natural Resources Division for its outstanding work in litigating the acquisition of over 275 acres of land in Somerset County, Pennsylvania where United Airlines Flight 93 crashed on September 11, 2001. The land was acquired to construct a national monument to honor the victims of this national tragedy.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., along with Department of Justice senior officials, employees and invited guests, recognized the recipients of the Attorney General's Awards at the Daughters of the American Revolution Hall on October 15, 2014. The Attorney General’s Awards honor Department of Justice employees and others who assist the Department in meeting its law enforcement mission.
