The Deputy Attorney General remarked on how the Department of Justice is strengthening their prosecutions related to corporate crime. The Department is namely prioritizing individual accountability, re-evaluating corporate recidivism, highlighting voluntary self-disclosures, selecting compliance monitors where appropriate, and encouraging companies to shape financial compensation around promoting compliance to avoid improperly risky behavior.
On September 15, 2022 Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco delivered remarks at NYU School of Law describing the results of the Department of Justice’s yearlong review of its corporate criminal enforcement strategy and announcing changes to its enforcement policies. Afterward, the Deputy Attorney General participated in a moderated question and answer session.
