Attorney General Sessions announced a new Prescription Interdiction & Litigation Task Force and that the Department of Justice will be filing a Statement of Interest in a multi-district action regarding hundreds of lawsuits against opioid manufacturers and distributors. He was joined in this announcement by Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel, and Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro.
