Arab Muslim Engagement

USA Damon Martinez and Terry Wade, the new FBI Special Agent in Charge, participated in an outreach event at the Islamic Center of New Mexico (ICNM). During the meeting, the President of ICNM, Abbas Akhil, discussed ICNM’s outreach efforts, upcoming events and issues of concerns for the Muslim community in New Mexico. President Akhil also outlined his goals for continued collaboration amongst the ICNM, FBI and USAO, including establishment of a taskforce to address issues of concern to the Arab Muslim community. After remarks by USA Martinez and SAC Wade, the two participated in a question and answer session with attendees. EAUSA Elizabeth Martinez and Smart on Crime AUSA Henderson joined the U.S. Attorney at this event, and AUSA Henderson will represent the USAO on the new taskforce.
