Community Outreach – Camp Triumph, Session One

On June 13, 2016, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and its law enforcement, National Guard and social service partners kicked off the 2016 Camp Triumph Summer Youth Prevention Program.  Camp Triumph is a youth drug, gang and gun violence prevention effort that began 20 years ago and is operated as part of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Project Safe Neighborhoods program in Bernalillo County which has an urban Indian focus.  This year’s Camp Triumph program was coordinated by Law Enforcement Coordinator Denise Gutierrez.  The first session took place at Rio Grande High School in Albuquerque from June 13-16, 2016.  Smart on Crime Assistant U.S. Attorney Henderson and representatives of the DEA and UNM College of Pharmacy-Generation Rx provided a HOPE Initiative presentation to campers on June 16, 2016, Assistant U.S. Attorney Adams represented the U.S. Attorney’s Office during the “graduation” ceremony, and Student Intern Bartel provided assistance throughout the session.
