Keeping Students Well Stocked and Safe as They Head Back to School
This week was a great testament to collaboration with our exceptional state, local, and community partners.
Yesterday, I was honored to help kick off the 2023 RI School Safety Conference, which brought together educators, community leaders, and federal state and local law enforcement officials to share expertise not just to keep our children safe from gun violence, but to make our communities safe and resilient.
Today, I had the pleasure of joining the Rhode Island State Police at the close of this year's Kids, Cops, and Classrooms campaign, which collects and distributes school supplies to kids who need them in communities all across Rhode Island.
Both events, at their core, reflect the same thing: RI law enforcement's commitment to being a partner not just in community safety, but community success. Huge thanks to the RI State Police for their continued leadership with this campaign; thanks to everyone, in public service and the private sector, who gave so generously to this year's effort; and thanks to West Warwick schools for hosting this morning's event.
Here's to a great, and a safe, school year ahead!
