The Litigation I Section (Lit I) is responsible for civil antitrust enforcement, competition advocacy, and competition policy in the areas of:

  • Health care
  • Insurance
  • Pulp, paper, and timber
  • Appliances
  • Food products
  • Beer
  • Cosmetics and hair care
  • Bread

Federal and State Contacts

Health care matters: Lit I often works with the Department of Health and Human Services and state attorneys general in its health care investigations and cases.

Competition advocacy: Lit I often collaborates with the Federal Trade Commission on competition advocacy in the health care sectors, including advocacy efforts that address Certificates of Need Rules.
