I am writing because I am concerned about the lack of competition in agricultural markets. Because of companies like MONSANTO, I have to be a food scientist to figure out what's in my food that can harm me. I have been able to alleviate a chronic health problem in part by eating a clean, whole foods diet - obtained exclusively from my local farmers here in New York who, by the way, struggle to make a living while Monsanto executives take up residence in our government. I rarely shop in a grocery store anymore because the risk is just too high.
Having good, pure food available should be a basic human right and in a country as affluent as the Unites States it is criminal that our food is being poisoned with pesticides and GMOs and most Americans have no idea this is happening.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to comment.
