|Subject:||Comments Regarding Agriculture and Antitrust Enforcement Issues in Our 21st Century Economy|
I am a conservationist working daily on trying to conserve our agricultural lands from development. I am also critically concerned about the consolidation of power and control over our food and agricultural systems by corporations.
Corporate consolidation and control of the agricultural land and the food itself is bad for our bodies and bad for the land. A food system driven by profit, rather than land stewardship, sustainability, and health is simply a recipe for disaster - short-term profits lead to exploitation of resources and produce low-quality food. Please help diversify the food system.
I'm also concerned about my families safety, considering that most of the food available to us is processed in big centralized locations, increasing the risk of widespread contamination.
