Subject: citizen input

My name is Rose Petsche.I am a citizen concerned about the consolidation of our food supply into the hands of a few corporations in the agriculture sector of the economy.

I am very worried about the vulnerability of our food supply.Small farms are disappearing.Large agri-corporations, who should not get taxpayer subsidies are getting them. Our agricultural policy does not promote competition among actual small farms & business.I want those subsidies to large corporations that make a hefty profit to be eliminated and I’d like to see a policy that encourages small local farmers & business to grow organically produced food. What galls me most is that many wealthy people own farms and collect subsidies from the taxpayer and don’t really deserve them.Stop this practice.

We need sustainable farming that encourages local business & farmers. We need varied supplies of seeds that are freely available to small farmers.

I am against genetically modified food & dairy products. They shouldn’t be allowed into the American food stream.

All in all, I am against the consolidation of power that large agri-farms & businesses have amassed and want to see restraints put on their influence in the production of our food and the distribution of our taxpayer dollars.

Thank you,
