This is concerning the Antitrust in Dairy Marketing:
With the million dollar pay-outs to Dairy Co-ops and Board Members, I definitely think this matter needs to be investigated for Criminal Prosecution. Our farm is in the Maryland-Virginia Co-op, and I have been attempting to shed light on the Antitrust issue with our co-op for years. It is unjust that the money comes in to these co-ops because of the farms producing high quality milk and then that money is not returned to the producers. Farms are not going to be able to continue with high quality production if they cannot afford to buy high quality feed and supplies for the farm.
It should also be investigated that the co-ops are buying Milk Production Plants and skimming money off the top from those. Farmers do ALL the work for the income that is made by these companies, yet yield NONE of the profits. If the Justice Department would even take a small look in to this, they would find a huge injustice.
If something is not done about this ALL farms are going to be forced out of operation in the US and then we will be importing ALL of our dairy products from other countries. Who in their right mind wants to drink milk that has been shipped in from other countries without USDA ratings, not to mention how "fresh" it would taste after that long transport.
I STRONGLY urge your investigation into this matter. Thank you for your time.
