|Subject:||concern about increase of corporate power in agriculture|
I am a parent who is concerned about the E.coli found in many foods, the antibiotics in meat, and the dangerous grip that Monsanto, Archer-Daniel-Midlands and other gigantic agribusinesses have on our food supply. I urge DOJ to investigate these firms and any others that are squeezing small farmers out of business, and are making our food supply prices and quality subject to their corporate decisions.
It is very difficult for parents to obtain healthy food for their families and impossible if the parents are low income.
Monsanto's dominance of the seed industry is particularly distressing because their corporate behavior is predatory and unamerican.
In addition to the unhealthiness of "modern" food processing, animal growing methods, we should all be concerned about the target this allows terrorist perpetrators.
The dominance of corn syrup in all soda pops and drinks is probably the cause of the nation's tendency for young people to develop diabetes. (Maybe this is not a DOJ concern, but sure is a concern to many parents).
