Subject: concentration of ownership in American agriculture.

One of the consequences of concentration of ownership in American agriculture is that dairy cows are often kept in herds of thousands on "factory farms" called Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations(CAFOs). I hope the activities of your department lead to producing milk while producing as little Green House Gas as possible.  The manure should be digested into methane which should be collected and burned to generate electricity. Diet should minimize oral and anal production of methane. How does methane production in CAFOs compare with cows raised in pastures?
