To whom it may concern,
As a citizen of the United States and a consumer of food, I am deeply concerned about the consolidation of corporate power in the food and agriculture sector.
I am concerned for the following reasons.
* I've noticed prices rising at the supermarket and I dont feel like I can do anything about it. This is something that is especially troublesome. In my entire adult life(I am 33 now) my salary has increased a total of $26000 a year and most of that(around $20000) was a cost of living increase. If food prices continue to rise unchecked, it could easily be difficult for myself and others in my community to afford food of any type.
* I am concerned about the quality of the food I purchase. I have noticed that purchasing quality food is more and more difficult. From the point of view of simple health this is a dangerous trend. One of the things that has been told to us, the people, is that we should eat better. If it becomes cost prohibitive to eat better then our only option, realistically, is to eat junk food.
Thank you for reading.
