My name is Thais Winzen. I am married stay at home mom in California.
I am very concerned about the consolidation of corporate power in the food section. I do not like how corporate greed has changed farming.  I  do not want to see any corporation owning seeds.  But that is the case, that ONE company holds a patent in seeds. :(
I do not want to feed my family GMO, irradiated, laden with pesticides. We were doing just that, since many soy and corn products are in nearly everything we eat. So we strive to eat better, to understand that the fruits and veggies at the supermarket is GMO or irradiated or full of pesticides.  That our meat, is fed corn, not grass as it was designed to eat ( thus increasing the chances of e-coli) so our food is less safe.
Eating healthy is dificult and frustrating.   I should be able to buy fresh, organic foods that are grown locally. So many farmers have gone out of business.    Even in health stores the organics are small section. As one income family in California, it is definitely costly, but we do what we can.
I want to know what I am eating and feeding my children. I want to see clear labeling. I want to buy food from farmers who respect the environment, our food, its workers.
I want to know what I am eating.
