I am writing because I don't want to see the small farmer losing a livelihood due to big corporations like Monsanto havin enough money and "connections" to dictate the agricultural market.

Monsanto is monopolising the food growing industry  and threatening farmers who don't buy their seeds. If a stray seed is found in a farmer's land, he is sued by Monsanto who has the means to do that and continue until the small farmer loses, maybe even his only livelihood.

Government regulators often are once corporate lobbyists - this conflict of interest allow big corporations like Monsanto  executives then turned government regulators to "benefit" Monsanto in every way possible.  This is totally unfair and improper conduct of officials who can dictate what is finally put in the supermarket and into the mouths of our families.

GMO and GE foods have already shown enough effects - more people now suffer from cancer, children who should be healthy are already put on medication and show signs of ailments that will plague them for a long time - we must grow food that is healthy for the environment and for our future generations.

Food labeling - these must reflect every source, every by-product, every technology used - the future generations depend on us to provide them with the tools for a happy, healthy future.

What are we feeding our families - health or disease?

Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
