Subject: Comments Regarding Agriculture and Antitrust Enforcement Issues in Our 21st Century Economy

I am a student at the University of California Santa Cruz.  I find it appalling that such control of our food production is given so readily to large corporations.  There are many issues with our food system which are direct products of it being consolidated into large corporations.  Also, these large corporations are driven by profits, and nothing else.  They do not care at all about the quality of the product they produce as long as it can sell and make money.  Because of the driving force of profit, they threaten farmers that do not use their seeds or fertilizers.  They also have caused the creation of a system which eliminates their competition by forcing smaller farms out of business.  These small farmers, also, can not find a suitable way to get their produce to the consumer because of all the hoops the big companies put in between them and the consumer.

Thank you for taking the time to determine what the people want and making it a reality.
