I am writing because I don't like pesticides in my food or in our environment. GMO crops use MORE pesticides than conventional crops.
I don't like corruption and I thing that Monsanto is a corrupting force on the US government because of the "revolving door" of personnel between corporate lobbyists and regulatory agencies. This should not be allowed.
I don't like injustice and that is what takes place when wind blows GMO seeds onto a farmers field and then that farm is responsible for it. Monsanto sues farmers who have 'volunteer' GMO plants on their farms and the justice department and the courts rule in Monsanto's favor. This is injustice.
I don't like corporate control over food for the purpose of profiteering. Monsanto has too much power and not enough responsibility for the unintended consequences of their unproven and largely untested agricultural technologies.
I don't think that it is fair to allow any company to disperse into the environment 'exotic' genetic material that can corrupt wild plants. This is especially true of terminator techonology.
I don't like regulatory agencies that don't do their jobs because they are lobbied and co-opted by corporate interests and I thing that many US agriculture and food regulatory agencies are co-opted by Monsanto and other powerful corporations.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to comment.
