The more I hear about how Monsanto controls a substantial majority of many crop and seed markets around the world, the more frightened I become of what will happen in the future.
This type of targeted monopoly is crushing our farmers. They are basically OWNED by a seed company and live in fear of losing everything if they don't comply. This is tyrannical, unfair, and should be stopped. You can compare a typical farmer's job security to that of an illegal immigrant- they are forced to do whatever their boss wants for fear of being reported.
I am also writing because I am concerned about the lack of competition in agricultural markets caused by companies such as Monsanto.
I really feel The Department of Justice needs to rein in Monsanto and set up guidelines on beneficial technology and how it can be used in the public domain. The world's food supply should never be controlled by a private interest.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to comment.
