I am writing because I am concerned about the fact that government bureaucrats--who perhaps are not working entirely at the behest of wealthy corporate interests and only seem to be--are making very important decisions about our national agriculture policy without significant input from people who actually know about agriculture.
People who have never had their hands in soil should not make these decisions without first committing to a large scale process of education and engagement with the farming community nationwide.
Men in suits do not always know what is best for us--we have learned this the hard way many times and very recently have we not??
Those of us who actually grow food have a lot of information we would like you to understand. We believe that you are endangering our food security, our national health, the future of our children, and therefore, our national security with poorly thought out decisions made easy by large corporate interests.
Step back, take a breather, and educate yourself first please.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to comment.
