I am writing because I am concerned about the lack of competition in agricultural markets.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to comment.
I work in the field of natural medicine, and have seen the amazing health benefits as people change their diets to more whole, natural foods without additives, artificial fertilizers or pesticides. Stories of what Monsanto has done to decimate the livelihood of farmers in India, for example, are so horrific as to wonder if the corporate management is really human?
Our current agriculture practices are ruining or have already ruined American soil. Monsanto controls the majority of seeds in the US, and regularly threatens farmers who don't buy its seeds. And the horror is pervasive; in northern California, organic farmers are losing their organic certification ( and note that our California organic certification is MUCH more stringent than the US one) because Monsanto crop plants are invading their organic crops in the fields.
Please begin a REAL investigation without the strong arm of Monsanto and other chemical companies strong-arming their way into our right to have access to REAL food. Thank you!
