Mr. Peterson has practiced as an intellectual property attorney since 1983, focusing on information technologies. He joined HP in 1991, and has provided intellectual property support for a wide range of HP's businesses. He has advised on intellectual property issues that arise in the development of standards since 1995, initially in the context of specific business activities and in more recent years in the development of HP policy. Mr. Peterson has received a juris doctorate from the Frankin Pierce Law Center and bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
