Saudi Arabia: ICITAP Completes Critical Incident Awareness Course for Special Forces for Security and Protection

October 20, 2022

On October 20, the ICITAP-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Mission completed a ten-day Critical Incident Awareness Course for the Special Forces for Protection and Security (SFSP) at the FSF Academy in Riyadh. The course measurably increased the awareness, operational and management skills of SFSP line personnel who would be the first responders to critical events that would negatively impact the safety of visitors and the Saudi population they protect.  The personnel trained were assigned to the tourist areas of Al’Ula, Red Sea Resorts, and the future city of Neom.  The students participated in lectures, group discussions, and real-time tabletop exercises of emergency responses that could occur in the respective areas of their operation. In Saudi Arabia, ICITAP works with the support of and in collaboration with the State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA) Office of Program Management-Ministry of Interior (OPM-MOI).
