On July 13, 2022, the ICITAP-Ukraine mission provided an update on the impact of its host-nation staff, who are providing expert assistance and coordination for ICITAP Ukrainian staff have continued working in undisclosed locations throughout Ukraine since February 24, 2022.  These courageous and versatile team members have been key to the successful distribution of urgently needed supplies purchased by ICITAP for the National Police of Ukraine (NPU). Recently, an ICITAP-Ukraine staff member, who volunteers for an NGO operating in Ukraine, was able to coordinate and manage the NGO’s donation of a van to the NPU.  The van was packed with humanitarian aid, food, power banks, and personal hygiene items. The NPU, and specifically the ICITAP-trained and equipped Patrol Police Department (PPD) and Territorial Community Police Officers (TCPO), have been on the forefront of rescuing civilians trapped in bombed buildings, escorting fleeing refugees, and distributing food, medicine, and other supplies to communities throughout Ukraine.  In Ukraine, ICITAP works with the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), and Bureau of International Security and Non-Proliferation (ISN).
