Indonesia: ICITAP Increases Digital Capability of National Police in North Jakarta
On April 22, ICITAP-Indonesia’s National Training Reorganization (NTR) Team supported the Indonesian National Police (INP) Maritime Police Training Center (Pusdik Polair) in North Jakarta to provide a three-hour presentation on the "Introduction to Digital and Distance Learning Presentation Skills" course to 15 instructors. The training comprises three parts: basic computer and internet knowledge, basic principles for creating presentations, and an introduction to distance learning platforms and tools. More advanced materials, supplemented by practical exercises for this short course, are being offered to Pusdik Polair leadership for a cadre of their instructors at a later time. The activity also allowed ICITAP staff to learn about the instructors' general computer and digital literacy skills and skills to produce training materials suited to the instructors for future training. The training was held in one of the container classrooms previously donated by ICITAP with the support of the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) to this training center. The participants were appreciative, as the presentation provided them with new training tools and opened their minds to the positive contribution of digital literacy and skills to enhance their instructional presentations to cadets.
