Serbia: ICITAP Sponsors Southeast Europe Police Chiefs Association’s Women Police Officers Network Workshop on Power of Effective Communication

On April 16, the opening of the Southeast Europe Police Chiefs Association’s (SEPCA) Women Police Officers Network workshop on the Power of Effective Communication took place in Vršac, Serbia. The opening remarks were delivered by ICITAP-Serbia Attaché Scott Hatfield, the Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia; the Serbian Ministry of Interior State Secretary-Deputy Minister, and the Rector of the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies (UCIPS). The opening remarks underscored the pivotal role of communication in fostering community trust, resolving conflicts, promoting gender-sensitive policing practices, as well as the importance of strengthening regional networking and collaboration. SEPCA was established in January 2002, in Pula, Croatia. SEPCA members include the police organizations from Albania, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Republic Srpska, and Serbia. 34 female law enforcement delegates from SEPCA member organizations and Austria are participating in this training workshop from April 16 to 19, 2024. In partnership with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), ICITAP will be sponsoring additional training sessions during Serbia’s SEPCA presidency in 2024.
