Links to a Language Identification Flashcard, allowing recipients to identify languages individuals might be speaking, was added to the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and Publications and Documents pages. In addition, links were added to the National Origin Discrimination Brochure in Spanish, Arabic, Cambodian, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Laotian, Russian, Tagalog, and Vietnamese on the Publications and Documents page.

5/3/01 Update:
Links to agency Title IX regulations were added to each agency that has a listing on the Agency-Specific Materials page. In addition, links to agency civil rights-related websites were added for each agency that has a listing. To access this material, go to the Agency-Specific Materials webpage and click on the agency of interest.
4/2/01 Update:
A separate webpage was added for Documents Related to COR Complaint Investigation Activities, making it easier to locate this material. In addition, thumbnail pictures were added to the Publications and Documents page to illustrate the kind of outreach material COR has available. To make it easier to find items of interest, links to Complaint Documents and Training Material were added to the Resources box that appears at the top of many webpages, including this one. Also added to the navigation bars at the bottom of most COR webpages, including this one, are links to Complaint material and Training material. Finally, links have been added to materials published by various agencies in response to Executive Order 13166.

The Executive Order 13160 Guidance Document: Ensuring Equal Opportunity in Federally Conducted Education and Training Programs has been added to the website in HTML and PDF formats. A link to the Office of Management and Budget's January 16, 2001, Provisional Guidance on the Implementation of the 1997 Standards for Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity has been added on the Publications page. A Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that would amend twenty-two federal agencies' Title VI, Section 504, and Age Discrimination Act regulations to incorporate the Civil Rights Restoration Act's broadened definitions of "program or activity" and "program" has been added, in HTML and PDF formats. The Department of Health and Human Service's October 26, 2000, NPRM incorporating the Civil Rights Restoration Act's broadened definitions of "program or activity" and "program" has been added in HTML and PDF formats. A revised Spanish translation of the Department of Justice's guidance, "Enforcement of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964: National Origin Discrimination Against Persons with Limited English Proficiency," is now on the website in HTML and PDF formats.

Numerous webpages throughout the Federal Coordination and Compliance Section (COR) website have been slightly modified to make them more accessible to viewers using screen readers. The brochure, "Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Federally Assisted Programs," has been added. A link to a new brochure, "Federal Protections Against National Origin Discrimination," has been added to the Publications page. Agency-specific materials for the Small Business Administration have been added. A notice listing Department of Justice federal financial assistance covered by Title IX has been added, in HTML and PDF formats. President Clinton's Memorandum on strengthening Title IX and addressing discrimination in federally conducted education programs and activities also has been added.
11/14/00 Update:
The entire Federal Coordination and Compliance Section (COR) home page has been completely redesigned, reflecting COR's added responsibilities to implement recently-announced Executive Orders 13160 and 13166, in addition to Executive Order 12250. The redesign also puts more emphasis on easier navigation throughout the site, is designed for faster loading, maximizes access for people with disabilities, and minimizes confusing clutter.
Also, a document, Commonly Asked Questions and Answers Regarding Executive Order 13166: Providing Meaningful Access to Individuals Who Are Limited English Proficient to Federally Assisted and Federally Conducted Programs And Activities, has been added. The Department of Education's November 13, 2000, final rule incorporating the Civil Rights Restoration Act's broadened definitions of "program or activity" and "program" has been added in HTML and PDF formats. >
