On March 31, 2006, the United States filed a complaint in United States v. Gambone Brothers Development Company, et al. (E.D. Pa.), a Fair Housing Act pattern or practice case. The complaint alleges that the defendants, Gambone Brothers Development Company and others, violated the Fair Housing Act by failing to design and construct 300 covered ground-floor units and the related common and public use areas at five apartment complexes in accordance with the Fair Housing Act. The complaint also alleges that the defendants failed to design and construct the rental offices and the related public use areas at these complexes in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
