Conflicts regarding whether certain lands are Indian country for adjudicatory and regulatory purposes have arisen in a number of contexts. These four decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court are illustrative of the myriad ways in which issues arise and the significant implications of rulings regarding reservation boundaries and tribal authority and jurisdiction.
