Whale Fun Facts:

  •  NOAA's Sanctuaries Collection. Dan Shapiro.The gray whale seasonally migrates throughout the Pacific from Alaska to the Baja Peninsula in Mexico.
  • Whales, dolphins, and porpoises are all part of the same biological order Cetacea.
  • Baleen whales (like the humpback and gray whales) are the largest whales but eat small shrimp-like animals called krill. A single whale can eat several tons of krill every day.
