Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand delivers the opening remarks to her summit on human trafficking, discussing the Department of Justice’s dedication to helping victims and combating this “modern-day slavery”
“Of course, it is not enough for law enforcement to be aware of the problem. We need the eyes and ears of other government agencies at all levels, of industry, and of the public, and we need the help of the media in shining a light on the problem of human trafficking – if everyone from flight attendants to hotel clerks to ER doctors knows the signs of trafficking, we will rescue more victims and bring more traffickers to justice.”
