L - Collaborating with LEP and D/HOH Communities and Stakeholders

EOIR will endeavor to hold an annual stakeholder engagement session to receive feedback from communities with LEP and D/HOH populations and other stakeholders regarding EOIR’s language access initiatives. The LAWG will work with OP to coordinate these meetings and to engage with interested parties. In advance of the annual meeting, the LAWG will work with OGC and, as relevant, OP’s Immigration Law Division, to publish a notice in the federal register to increase the opportunity for public engagement on this topic. LAWG will work with OP to evaluate the feedback received during these sessions. These sessions will provide valuable feedback for EOIR to learn which language access initiatives are succeeding and to also hear about additional areas for improvement.
