EOIR Office of the Director


The EOIR Director is responsible for the supervision of the Deputy Director, the Chairman of the BIA (also known as the Chief Appellate Immigration Judge), the Chief Immigration Judge, the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer, and all agency personnel in the execution of their duties in accordance with 8 CFR Part 1003. The Director also supervises other offices and programs whose functions cut across each of EOIR’s components, including the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO); Office of the Ombuds; Planning, Analysis, and Statistics Division (PASD); and the Judicial Conduct and Professionalism Unit. The Director represents EOIR before the Attorney GeneralDeputy Attorney General, Members of Congress, other governmental bodies, the news media, the bar, and private groups interested in immigration matters.

Deputy Director 

On behalf of the Director, the Deputy Director oversees the BIA, OCIJ, OCAHO, OGC, OP, EEO, OIT, PASD, and OA.
