Interview Information: 

Honors Program interviews will be conducted via virtual platforms.  Candidates should follow scheduling instructions from the Office of Attorney Recruitment and Management (OARM).  OARM will notify candidates of their interview time and date.  The EEO and Diversity Management (EEO/DM) Staff, Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys, will provide supplemental instructions including the interview link and contact for technical assistance.

Pre-Interview Submissions:  The EEO/DM Staff requests a current resume and a recent writing sample.

  • Submission Deadline: As soon as possible but not later than 5 business days following notification of selection for an interview.
  • Format: Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
  •  Type of Writing Sample: Interview candidates should submit one writing sample not to exceed 15 pages.  The candidate may add a summary or introductory statement to orient the reader and provide context, if necessary. The sample should be written within the last 2 years and provide evidence of the candidate’s skills in legal analysis and writing.  It should represent the candidate’s own work, without extensive editing by anyone else.  If the work was authored by more than one person, the candidate should highlight the portions they authored.
    For Honors Program applicants, judicial opinions (or excerpts of judicial opinions) are acceptable if you are authorized by your judge to submit it as your writing sample. 
  • Submission Method: Submit the requested documents by e-mail as an attachment to:  The e-mail subject line should reflect: “Honors Program Submission” and include the candidate’s name.
