The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Arkansas has one (1) vacancy for an Assistant U.S. Attorney (Violent Crimes) in the Criminal Division. The position will be located in the Hot Springs office. Attorneys in the Criminal Division are responsible for the prosecution of a variety of crimes under federal law including white-collar crime, public corruption, investment schemes, illegal immigration and alien smuggling, drug violations, firearms violations, terrorism, and violent crime.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate quick analytical ability as the facility to accurately and precisely articulate critical issues in a case. Applicants must have demonstrated capacity to function, with minimal guidance, in a highly demanding environment.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least nine (9) years post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
United States citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong academic credentials, superior legal research and writing skills, quick analytical ability to accurately and precisely articulate critical case-related issues, courtroom experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a supportive and professional team environment with client agencies, support staff, and other attorneys, and a demonstrated commitment to public service. Applicants also should be computer literate. The candidate selected for this vacancy will represent the United States in a wide variety of criminal cases, that include violent crimes.
