Interview Information
Honors Program interviews will be conducted via WebEx this year. Candidates should follow scheduling instructions from the Office of Attorney Recruitment and Management (OARM). OARM will notify candidates of their interview day and time. The USAO, District of Colorado will provide supplemental instructions including the interview link and contacts for technical assistance. If you have not received your interview link at least 72 hours prior to your interview, please contact Mariah.Hill@usdoj.gov. Interviews will begin no earlier than 9:00 am, Mountain (11:00 am Eastern).
Pre-Interview Submissions
The District of Colorado requests a legal writing sample and a current resume.
Please specify in your cover email whether you are interested in the criminal division, the civil division, or both the criminal and civil divisions of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado.
- Submission Deadline: Not later than 5 days after notification of selection for interview.
- Format: Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF (preferred)
- Type of Writing Sample: The writing sample, not to exceed 10 pages, should an original piece of legal writing or analysis that has not been extensively edited by a third party (e.g., not a heavily-edited law review article or a judicial opinion). An excerpt from a longer piece is acceptable – just include a brief explanation. If written in conjunction with others, the candidate must clearly identify those portions he or she authored.
- Submission Method: Submit all documents as attachments in ONE email message to andrea.wang@usdoj.gov. The email subject line should reflect: "Honors Program Submissions" and include the candidate's name.
Special Instructions
The body of your email should specify whether you are interested in the criminal division, the civil division, or both divisions. Documents submitted should clearly identify the candidate or contain the candidate's name at the top, right, corner of the first page.
